School Year Ends With Closures
The Queens Gazette wrote about Long Island City's final graduation, where Senator Gianaris was honored to deliver the keynote speech.
State Senator Michael Gianaris was the keynote speaker on June 27 at Long Island City High School’s final graduation. The school will be closed and reopened in the fall as a completely new school following the city Department of Education’s aggressive plan to turn around under-performing schools, which Gianaris, an LIC alumni, opposed.
