Big raise? Prison inmates could get a major boost in their wages in New York

"There is no reason to treat people in prison as less than human," Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, D-Pelham, Westchester County, said in a statement.

"Most of them are going to leave prison and return to society, and our goal should be to prepare them to be able to build new lives."
