Skoufis announces state water grant funding for Orange County

State Sen. James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) announced that several municipalities within the 39th Senate District, totaling more than $8 million, that will receive vital state grants to assist with infrastructure projects that protect public health and improve water quality.

Projects eligible for these grants include those combatting contaminants, such as PFOA and PFOS. The grants will cover up to 60 percent of total capital project costs.

“I fundamentally believe that clean and safe drinking water is a vital human right that must be both protected and respected by our government,” Skoufis said in the press release announcing the grants.
