Local journalism has seen a drastic decline in recent years as disinformation tactics become more prevalent. To combat the loss of journalism on the local level, Sen. Kevin Thomas (D-Garden City), chair of the Senate Consumer Protection Committee, discussed his new bill which would require the development of local news organizations via cable companies.
