Senator Harckham's first "Coffee andConversation" was held in Patterson, NY.

Putnam County’s recently elected State Senator Peter Harckham was lauded by Republicans and Democrats alike Saturday following his first “Coffee and Conversation” get-together.

More than 50 people crowded into a dining room at the Patterson Diner for the “meet and greet” that covered a wide range of topics ranging from abortion and gun laws to the recycling of plastics, state funded mandates and reductions in state aid.

The 40th District Democrat, who defeated incumbent Terrence Murphy in November, told his audience that he wants to be a “good neighbor by serving everyone. During my first days in office, I met with every chief elected official in Putnam County in order to find out their needs and concerns.”
