Calling the shutdown of the Doral Arrowwood Hotel and Conference Center a “sudden economic blow,” local and state officials are urging a New York State Supreme Court judge to push off the Jan. 12 date the renowned resort will close.

In a joint letter to Judge Gretchen Walsh on Monday, officials detailed how closing the Doral Arrowwood in Rye Brook would create holes in municipalities' budgets and hurt the quality of life for constituents near the 114-acre campus. During a hearing Thursday, there was no indication Doral Arrowwood would stay open past Sunday.
