Skoufis secures $100,000 for National Night Out events
Senator James Skoufis has announced $100,000 in funding for National Night Out (NNO) events throughout Orange County this year.
NNO is a national, annual campaign promoting partnerships between police departments and the communities they serve, helping to make neighborhoods safer places to live. Skoufis and his team distributed funding awards of $10,000 to police departments in Middletown, Port Jervis, Highland Falls, Warwick, Goshen, Mount Hope, Wallkill, New Windsor, and Crawford, all of which will hold NNO events on Tuesday.
The Senator also secured $10,000 for Tuxedo’s NNO event, which will occur later in the month.
“Local law enforcement is the backbone of community safety,” said Senator Skoufis (D, Orange County). “Ensuring our neighbors know their officers and see them as partners in building community is critical to public safety. National Night Out is a great opportunity to further that trust, and I’m proud to support these efforts across the county. I am grateful for all our law enforcement does to keep Orange County safe.”
The Senator’s team will be in attendance at several of the National Night Out events across the county, sharing resources and greeting neighbors. To learn more about National Night Out, visit www.natw.org.
