School District officials about deteriorating lighting in the Middle/High School gymnasium and the resulting potential safety hazard, State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Westchester/Bronx) will announce he has secured emergency state funding. Since the beginning of the school year, the gradual failure of the lighting system has caused shadows and worsening lighting conditions that could threaten the safety of students and athletes. The funding will make the gymnasium safer for the thousands of students and community groups who use the facility on a regular basis.
