These recommendations should be considered an initial step towards statewide reform and present us with an opportunity to make our health care system more responsive to our communities and less costly, in part by working with the impacted local communities to develop alternatives that will offset the closures and ensure that we provide the best possible health care coverage to all our communities, particular those already underserved.”
