State Capitol, Albany, New York, March 28, 2006 -- State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently greeted students from the Robert Moses Middle School Select Chorus and Jazz Band, who traveled to Albany to perform during the 34th annual "Music In Our Schools Month," which is held in March. Performances by a variety of school bands, orchestras, student choruses and jazz ensembles are held throughout the month.
"Music is so important in our children’s lives and in their development," said Senator Johnson. "It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to listen to such a talented group of students, who have proved to be as gifted as they are driven. "
