BRONX-With the close of the 2007 legislative session Senator Jeff Klein is happy to be back in the community, out and about discussing the issues that matter with residents of the Bronx and Westchester. The following are some of the week's highlights:
On Tuesday, Senator Klein dropped by the Allerton Avenue club house to chat with seniors about a variety of issues from congestion pricing, to terror-free investing, to campaign finance reform. In addition, the Senator admired the organization's van, which he was pleased to sponsor, that the seniors use to go on excursions and day trips.
On Thursday, Senator Klein was honored to join with the NYC Commissioner of Parks, Adrian Benepe, at a ribbon cutting ceremony for Sacherah Woods playground, the first finished Croton-funded capital project in Van Cortlandt Park. The site of much controversy, the park will benefit from over $40 million in capital improvements in the next few years.
Later in the day he visited seniors at the Tuckahoe senior center for Bingo and coffee.
