Klein Congratulates Young Spellers

YONKERS, NY-Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) congratulated Abashanttee Tonge (2nd Place), Elizabeth Anne Maguyon (1st Place), and Alex Brocco (3rd Place), theproud winners of the 43rd Annual Yonkers Spelling Bee at the Exchange Club of Yonkers Luncheon held at Luciano's restaurant. Klein presented the young spellers with certificates of achievement and encouraged them to continue to devote their time to educational endeavors, citing reading and writing as two of the most important indicators of academic and personal success. The bee was a joint effort between the Yonkers Board of Education and the Exchange Club and drew 84 participants from both public and parochial schools alike.
