State Capitol, Albany, New York, January 8, 2007-- State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, was recently honored by Long Island Youth Mentoring of Deer Park for his longtime support of their organization. Most recently, Senator Johnson was able to secure $49,000 in the 2006 state budget to help defray the organization’s operational expenses.

Senator Johnson has been a strong supporter of Long Island Youth Mentoring since the organization was formed. Long Island Youth Mentoring has given hope to thousands of abused and neglected children on Long Island and has truly made a difference in many lives. Senator Johnson is shown accepting an engraved bowl from John Cragg, the group's Executive Director, in recognition of his steadfast support.
