"The start of the NHL hockey season two weeks ago was yet another reminder of the importance of keeping the Islanders on Long Island.  The Lighthouse project is a critical component in our efforts to strengthen the regional economy and build a modern, first-class facility that allows the Islanders to continue to call Long Island home.  As a hockey fan, I am confident that any remaining issues that would prevent this from happening can be resolved so we can move forward with this project and bring the Stanley Cup back to Long Island."
