On Thursday, January 29th, Senator George D. Maziarz took a tour of the locally owned and operated Coca-Cola Plant on Milens Road in the town of Tonawanda. Senator Maziarz met with a number of workers at the facility and toured the plant with Director of Operations Pat Greco. Local Coca-Cola leaders have voiced concerns about the new Soda Tax proposed by New York State Governer David Paterson, which Senator Maziarz opposes. This partciular plant is family-owned and operated, currently employing 146 Western New York residents. It is always important to understand and address the concerns of local businesses that employ local residents such as this Coca-Cola plant.
