Senator Flanagan secured $60,000 dollars in funding through a “Community Programs Grant” for the Commack Ambulance to offset the cost of an emergency communications project. The funding was used to purchase repeaters that were placed on local towers to enhance communication.
The Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps is using the repeaters in conjunction with a radio frequency that was secured by the Commack Fire District which was essential in completing the project.
Because of this community cooperation, Commack Ambulance is able to say more clearly than ever, we are “Neighbors helping Neighbors”.
