Statement of State Senator Daniel Squadron in Response to Tuesday’s Bias Incident in Carroll Gardens:
Daniel L. Squadron
March 10, 2010
“My thoughts are with the victim of the brutal assault yesterday in Carroll Gardens, another reminder that lack of tolerance for LGBT individuals is sadly still with us. All violence should be prosecuted, regardless of motivation, but this bias-motivated attack is particularly vicious for the fear it is intended to inspire. I know that law enforcement officials and the Brooklyn District Attorney are pursuing those responsible for the attack, and I will continue to stand with them and my colleagues in government to make our community safe for all residents.”
