I am deeply disappointed that the Governor chose to veto the ethics reform package. This legislation is a good first step in advancing substantial structural change in the way business is conducted in Albany, and will wipe out decades of ineffective ethics standards and enforcement.
For the reform movement to move forward, we need steady progress, not line in the sand posturing.
The Senate will move to override this veto, and I implore my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to vote in favor of it, as they did with the original legislation.
