Senator Klein joined Senator Gillibrand and Attorney General Cuomo’s office in hosting Senior Fraud Workshop
NEW YORK- Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), representatives from the offices of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and representatives from the Social Security Administration along with AARP held a Senior Fraud Workshop today at the Northeast Bronx Senior Center. The panel of experts discussed common fraud practices, how to avoid being a victim of senior fraud and what victims should do and where they should go for help.
Senator Klein opened the workshop, sharing real stories about fraud victims and the Senator explained important red flags that seniors should look for to avoid becoming a victim. Klein also handed out pamphlets that included vital information regarding fraud protection and prevention.
Nearly 200 seniors attended the event.
