 State Senator Jose Peralta supports Congressman Raul Grijalva’s opposition

to Arizona State legislature bill SB1070 Peralta said “I support Arizona

Congressman Raul Grijalva’s objection to SB1070. As a Dominican American

who represents one of the most diverse communities in this country, I find

Arizona’s SB1070 anti-immigrant, anti-American and unconstitutional. This

bill does not address comprehensive immigration reform; instead it will

restrict civil rights and further marginalize immigrant communities. We

cannot allow any governing body in this country to legalize profiling based

on race, gender or religion.”

SB 1070, will require police to stop and question any individual suspected

of being an illegal immigrant. Anyone questioned by the police will be

required to provide documentation verifying U.S. citizenship.
