Senator Andrew Lanza recently honored Jordan Czerniawski as his 2011 inductee to the New York State Senate Veteran’s Hall of Fame at a special ceremony in Albany Tuesday. Czerniawski, a Korean War Vet and family man, passed away in December of 2010. His wife, Phyllis, accepted the honor on his behalf.
The New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life. Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the special recognition that only a Hall of Fame can provide, as a fitting expression of gratitude and admiration.
“Jordan’s service and life was the embodiment of American greatness,” said Senator Andrew Lanza.
Each Senator nominated a veteran from their district, with 62 nominees being enshrined in the Legislative Office Building on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. 10 Staten Islanders traveled to Albany for the ceremony including Jordan’s wife Phyllis and his 3 daughters Nancy, Vanessa and Stacey along with their families.
