I was honored to join the President as he visited the World Trade Center site today to pay tribute to those who lost their lives and suffered from the September 11th attacks.
As we approach the tenth anniversary, Lower Manhattan continues to rebuild -- growing stronger each day and remaining one of the best places on earth to live, work and raise a family. With Osama bin Laden finally brought to justice and extraordinary progress being made in the rebuilding of the site, I am reminded of the infinite capacity of our city, state and nation to come together and rise above enormous challenge.
I will continue to work with the community to ensure that the commemorations in September are a fitting tribute to the victims, the responders, their families and our thriving Lower Manhattan neighborhood that represents the best of American resilience and values.
