Three Way Ethics Reform Package Agreement
David Carlucci
June 6, 2011
“I am pleased that a three way agreement has been reached on an ethics reform package. Tough ethics regulations are essential to restoring public trust in our state government. This package includes many of the measures in the ethics reform proposal that I put forth earlier this year including an Independent Joint Commission on Ethics, expanded disclosure requirements to avoid conflicts of interest and stripping public pensions from those who violate the public’s trust. I appreciate the efforts of Governor Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Speaker Silver, and look forward to these vital reforms being implemented at long last. “
