On Thursday, October 13, Senator Adams celebrated the opening reception of Between Neighbors, an interactive art show that reflects on social boundaries in a multicultural neighborhood in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens area.
A series of paintings by local artist Brian Fernandes-Halloran explores the distance between himself and his neighbors of different social groups. Accompanying Halloran’s paintings are participatory art pieces in which visitors are invited to share their experiences and artistic talents. A recording booth will facilitate a dialogue that will develop through the span of the two-week show.
