Statement on Volunteer Efforts During Hurricane Irene
Martin J. Golden
August 30, 2011
Senator Golden stated "It is with honor that I commend the hard work of the many volunteers that came out during Hurricane Irene, in both preparation for and the aftermath of this natural disaster. CERT 1 NYC, CERT Brooklyn Community Board 15 and Marine Park, the Gerritsen Beach Volunteer Fire Department, BRAVO Volunteer Ambulance, Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance and Bensohurst Volunteer Ambulance kept us safe here in Southwest Brooklyn. The tireless efforts of these volunteers help to make our communities as strong as they are. I would like to extend my appreciation to everyone who helped out during this crisis situation and share my happiness over the neighborly acts that we have seen throughout Hurricane Irene's impact!"
