
Senator Fuschillo Informs Residents How They Can Apply for Federal Disaster Assistance Following Hurricane Sandy

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is informing residents and business owners who sustained damage during Hurricane Sandy how they can apply for federal disaster assistance.
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), federal disaster assistance include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
Homeowners and businesses can check to see if they are eligible for disaster assistance and file applications through FEMA by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA. According to FEMA, the toll free number will operate between 7 am to 10 pm seven days a week until further notice.
