Senator Fuschillo Joins Local Officials in Briefing Hud Secretary on Hurricane Sandy Recovery

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently participated in a roundtable meeting with U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan about Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts. Secretary Donovan has been appointed by President Obama to oversee the federal response to Hurricane Sandy and help coordinate federal support for New York State and local governments.
As part of the meeting, Senator Fuschillo and other local officials, including Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, and Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray, briefed Secretary Donovan about the damage Hurricane Sandy caused, the ongoing recovery efforts, and the challenges residents, businesses, and communities are currently facing as they rebuild and recover from the storm.
