Mobile Legal Help Center Will Offer Free Legal Assistance to Residents in Need
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray today announced that they will be sponsoring a program in Roosevelt to provide free legal services to those in need.
Senator Fuschillo and Supervisor Murray have arranged to bring the Mobile Legal Help Center to the northwest corner of Nassau Road and Mollineaux Street in Roosevelt, across from the Roosevelt Post Office, on Tuesday, October 23rd from 10 am to 3 pm. The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, brings free, civil legal services directly into communities.
NYLAG attorneys will be available to provide free advice, legal counseling, and direct representation to local residents on matters including:
• Medicaid
• Medicare
• Medicaid funded home care
• Social security
• Social security disability insurance
• Food stamps & public assistance
Individuals should bring with them any documentation related to their situation that may be useful to the NYLAG attorneys in providing assistance. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins will be accepted and served on a first come, first served basis.
Residents who would like more information about the free legal services program on October 23rd or would like to make an appointment should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
