On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, Senator Adams introduced a resolution mourning the tragic, senseless and untimely death of 19-year-old Pvt. Danny Chen who, after allegedly being the target of racial bullying by some of his peers, took his own life in October of 2011.

The Senator expressed the hope that New York State, a state that relishes in and celebrates its diversity, would send a strong message that all members of our armed forces – regardless of race, gender or religion – should be shown the greatest of appreciation and welcomed as Americans fighting for the freedom and security of all mankind.
