The governor laid out a very ambitious agenda. His proposals have enormous short-term potential benefits and significant long-term positive ramifications for New York City and New York State.
Most encouraging was the governor's focus on economic development. There is not a more important issue than the state of the economy and the large number of unemployed and underemployed. I fully and wholeheartedly support the idea of building the country's largest convention center in Queens.
I will work with Governor Cuomo and help however I can in making this vision for the Aqueduct Racetrack venue a reality. Many people literally cannot afford to wait for things to get better. They need jobs and we in government need to do all we can to create them.
"The governor's plans for a new convention center and other economic development proposals signal an important and necessary commitment to job creation and turning the state's economy around.
