Senator Golden Makes Comments Opposing Proposed Mta Fare Hikes
Martin J. Golden
November 29, 2012
Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today has sent comments to Metropolitan Transit Authority Chairman Joseph Lhota opposing the fare and toll hike proposal being considered designed to increase costs of Metro Cards, express buses, bridges and tunnels.
In his letter, Senator Golden wrote, “Before the storm, many New Yorkers were struggling with unemployment or under-employment throughout our city and state. Now, after the storm, these families, along with others, face an additional burden of increased expenses due to major damage to homes. I ask you to seriously consider removing any increases from consideration by the MTA.”
