Albany- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) has issued the following statement on the approval of S. 6257-E, the education, labor and family assistance budget bill, that restores school bus transportation to students who remain at school until 5pm or later:
“I am proud to have made a major effort to see that in this year’s New York State budget, after 5pm school bus service has been restored. This is great news for education, for our students and for our families. We must provide nothing less than a safe means for students to travel home who stay at school late for classes and extracurricular activities.”
Senator Golden yesterday announced a legislative agreement that restored school bus service for New York City’s 7th and 8th grade students.
