Recently, my colleagues in the State Senate and I adopted important legislation (S.2491) to add CPR training as part of  every high school student's health curriculum. This measure will significantly raise awareness of this important skill and could save countless lives.

The American Heart Association's 2010 revised CPR guidelines make it even easier for more people to perform CPR, with a greater emphasis is now placed on the simplest step – chest compressions.
