Owen H. Johnson

June 29, 2012

The West Babylon Little League along with Senator Owen H. Johnson hosted a Blood Drive on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Senator Owen Johnson Community Center located at 71 Sawyer Avenue in Lindenhurst.

A total of 81 pints of blood were collected by Long Island Blood Services at the event.  All 87 donors received a pair of Mets tickets for their generosity. Since each blood donation can help to save up to three lives, this blood drive alone could potentially save up to 243 lives.

β€œI would like to thank all of those who took time out of their busy schedules to donate blood,” Senator Johnson said.  β€œIt is especially important to ensure that blood is available whenever and wherever it is needed.  A special thanks to the West Babylon Little League and Long Island Blood Services for making that happen.”
