State Senator Patty Ritchie today announced that five local organizations will participate in the first ever “New York State Museum Week,” taking place from May 31 to June 6.
The statewide program is designed to celebrate the diversity of New York’s museums, zoos, historic homes, arts centers, cultural organizations and more.
“Many times people think they have to travel out of the area to do something fun, or to visit a museum and learn something new,” said Senator Ritchie. “In reality, there are plenty of great attractions right in our backyard that offer entertainment and new learning experiences.”
As part of the celebration, participating organizations will be offering exciting special events, activities, promotional offers and discounts throughout the week.
A list of participating attractions includes:
Antique Boat Museum, Clayton
AquaZoo, Alexandria Bay
Jefferson County Historical Society, Watertown
Sackets Harbor Battlefield Historic Site, Sackets Harbor
New York State Museum Week is sponsored by I Love New York, the Museum Association of New York, New York State Council on the Arts and the New York State Senate.
