October 26, 2012
State Senator Patty Ritchie recently attended the reopening of Richville’s School Street playground.
Organizers received help to revamp the playground by winning a $5,000 prize through the Reader’s Digest “We Hear You America” online contest.
The project was made possible through an outpouring of community support and funding from a number of other organizations and businesses, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northern New York, Price Chopper and Corning.
The playground now boasts new monkey bars, swings, and more. The group is looking for additional funding to add more equipment to the playground.
