Ritchie Cuts Ribbon on Wildlife Sanctuary
Patty Ritchie
October 12, 2012
State Senator Patty Ritchie recently joined wildlife enthusiasts for the ribbon cutting of the Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust’s newly acquired Joseph A. Blake Wildlife Sanctuary.
The North Country Bird Club transferred ownership of the wildlife sanctuary to the land trust this summer, in an effort to ensure the property would be maintained and utilized as both an educational and recreational tool.
The sanctuary is located on Middle Road on the Rutland/Champion town line, and is open to the public for hiking, biking and wildlife watching.
The Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust is looking for volunteers to maintain the property. Anyone interested can call the land trust at 779-2239
