Flowers and Cards for Homebound Seniors
State Senator Patty Ritchie visited several nursing homes and urged people to visit their loved ones at area nursing homes during Valentine's Week.
“Too many nursing home residents will spend Valentine’s Day alone, forgotten by friends and family,” Senator Ritchie said. “We can make a difference in their lives by sending a card or dropping by for a visit.”
“We can make everyday Valentine’s Day and brighten up someone’s life by taking a few minutes to visit people who are living alone, or some of the people in our nursing homes,” Senator Ritchie said.
On Thursday and Friday, Senator Ritchie handed out Valentine’s Day cards and carnations to residents at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, St. Luke’s Nursing Home and Sunrise Nursing Home (Morningside Residential) in Oswego.
