"Today, the New York State Senate scored a decisive win for all New Yorkers and offered further proof that we can never put a price tag on our most vulnerable populations. As a co-sponsor to this legislation (S4777-D), I believe we have struck the right balance of achieving greater cost savings with the creation of a firm safety net.
"New York State has made tremendous strides in promoting quality care and essential services to those who need it most. As we begin to implement this plan, we will be able to guarantee that crucial funding will be allocated to our nonprofit service providers instead of falling on the chopping block.
"I would like to thank Governor Cuomo, Senator Golden, and Assemblyman Weisenberg for their leadership and willingness to come together on an issue we all care deeply about."
