Senator Trunzo was an exemplary statesman who will be sorely missed.  I was fortunate to have him as a mentor, a colleague and a friend.  He epitomized in every sense of the word what it meant to be a gentleman.  His soft spoken demeanor belied his passionate advocacy for his constituents.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.
