(Bronx, NY) - Senator José M. Serrano joined the 40th precinct and the surrounding community in honor of the 2013 National Night Out Against Crime. National Night Out is an annual event created to heighten crime and drug awareness, generate support and participation in anticrime programs, and to strengthen the neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
“It is very important for us to acknowledge and thank our local police officers for the great work they do in our communities,” said Senator Serrano. “National Night Out is a great event because it allows the community to become familiar with the amazing men and women who work daily to improve our communities and keep us safe. We need to do all we can to strengthen bonds and increase understanding between communities and their police precincts."
