(Bronx, NY) – Senator José M. Serrano joined Congressman José E. Serrano, health organizations and community members at the Bronx LGBTQ Pride & Health Fair in Crotona Park. Providing an opportunity for members of the LGBTQ community and their supporters to show their pride, the fair also offered a space for everyone involved to receive key information and access to health screenings.

“The LGBTQ community consists of vibrant, talented and hardworking individuals who are our neighbors, our friends, and our family members,” said Senator Serrano. "These individuals should be celebrated and respected like all members of our community. In addition, members of the LGBTQ community must be made aware of the numerous resources that are available to address their specific concerns and needs. Many thanks to the Bronx LGBTQ Center for organizing this wonderful event,” concluded Serrano.  

The health fair, which featured over 12 health-oriented organizations, provided on-site health screenings including rapid HIV testing, blood glucose/diabetes screenings, as well as blood pressure testing.
