(New York, NY)-Senator Serrano celebrated Three Kings Day with El Museo del Barrio today at their 36th Annual Three Kings Day parade in the streets of East Harlem. The annual celebration brings together local families, school groups, community organizations, and elected officials from all over New York City.
“It is always a pleasure to take part in this wonderful celebration of our culture,” said Senator Serrano. “It is important that we continue to pass along this tradition and teach each coming generation about our heritage and history. Many thanks to El Museo del Barrio for a job well done, and for ensuring the parade is even more spectacular than the last. The live music, camels, dancing, puppets, and parranda make this an enjoyable and educational experience for everyone in the East Harlem community," continued Serrano.
The Three Kings Day festivities were hosted by El Museo del Barrio, a long-time cultural anchor in the East Harlem community. Comptroller John Liu, Council member Melissa Mark-Viverito, Assemblymember Robert Rodriguez, and Senator Gustavo Rivera were other elected officials present in celebration of this event.
