Grisanti Delivers for Town of Hamburg: $75,000 In Environmental Protection Funds Secured For Woodlawn Beach State Park

Senator Mark Grisanti (R,I) announced today that Woodlawn State Beach Park will be receiving $75,000 from the Environmental Protection Fund to help with the Town of Hamburg’s pump station conversion project.

Senator Grisanti, who chairs the Senate’s Environmental Conservation Committee said: Woodlawn State Beach Park is a top issue of mine. I am always looking for ways to help clean up the water so that the residents of Hamburg and other Western New Yorkers can enjoy this great beach.”

Hamburg Town Supervisor Steven Walters said: “This is yet another opportunity to enhance Woodlawn Beach, which is quickly becoming a regional tourist destination. Senator Grisanti continues to show that he shares our commitment to opening our waterfront to greater recreation use for the public.”

According to Supervisor Walters, the estimated cost of the project is $120,000, a price tag which includes running water and sewer lines to the old pump station. The building will be partitioned into handicapped-accessible lavatory facilities for men and women and storage space. The exterior of the building would be given architectural features that allows it to fit into the overall setting of the beach.
