SENATOR TERRY GIPSON INTRODUCES FRANKIE FLORA’S BILL IN THE SENATE

ALBANY, NY -- Hudson Valley Senator Terry Gipson introduced Frankie Flora’s Bill today in the State Senate, four years to the   day Frankie Flora was attacked by a dog leaving him severely injured.  The bill would hold dog owners automatically liable the first time their dog bites someone.  Currently under state law, owners are only issued a warning and not held financially responsible when their dog first bites a person. 

“Frankie Flora is one of the bravest young men I have had the privilege to represent and he deserves to have this bill passed,” said Senator Gipson. “Frankie’s Bill will promote responsible dog ownership and ensure our children and victims of dog bites are guaranteed the medical treatment they deserve.”   

Maria Flora, Frankie’s mother stated, “I want to thank Senators Gipson and Breslin for fighting on behalf of Frankie and to ensure all victims of dog bites are able to get the full medical care they need.”

Frankie and his family are constituents of the 41st Senate District represented by Senator Gipson.  Senator Neil Breslin (D-Delmar) is a co-primary sponsor of the bill.
