SENATOR JOHN BONACIC SECURES $50,000 GRANT FOR THE TOWN OF COLCHESTER
Monies to go towards relocating salt storage facility
Senator John Bonacic (R/I/C – Mt. Hope) announces that the Town of Colchester has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
The funding will go towards relocating the Town’s salt storage shed, which sits in a flood area at the former highway garage, and moving it to a more secure storage location, adjacent to the new highway garage.
“We would like to move the existing storage shed from an area that floods, to a spot next to the new highway garage. This would also create a more efficient system for our workers,” said Supervisor Arthur Merrill, “Senator Bonacic has always been supportive of this project, and we can’t thank him enough for this grant.”
“I am pleased to help the Town’s Highway Department with their project to relocate their salt storage facility,” said Senator Bonacic. “Our highway crews do a great job all year, and this will allow them to take care of maintaining Town roads more efficiently during the winter season.”
