(Albany, NY)- Senator Serrano met with local youth groups representing Harlem RBI and Goddard Riverside programs, who traveled to Albany for Youth Action Day. These groups met with Serrano to advocate for much needed funding for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
"It was great meeting with these incredibly bright groups of young people, who demonstrate the importance of supporting these programs," said Senator Serrano. "SYEP has been instrumental in providing our youth with paid employment over the summer in entry-level positions in government, non-profits, museums and more. These opportunities allow our youth to grow socially and learn about different fields they may be interested in. I remain committed to expanding funding for SYEP so that our youth can continue gaining valuable work experience," concluded Serrano.
