SENATOR PARKER’S ANNUAL THANKSGIVING TURKEY GIVEAWAY

AN OVERWHELMING SUCCESS

Brooklyn, NY  – Yesterday, for the eleventh consecutive year State Senator Kevin Parker opened this holiday season of thanks by giving away turkeys to more than 40 organizations and churches in his district. The free turkeys are intended for use in the preparation of Thanksgiving meals to the less fortunate. It is estimated that the amount of turkeys donated will be able to provide meals for close to 3,000 people. Turkeys were also distributed to several families and individuals.

“It is very important to me that we help the families in my district share the holiday season with their loved ones with a healthy meal,” said Senator Parker. “I am so grateful for the partnership with Kings Plaza and Kasirer Consulting Group that allowed us to meet and surpass our goal for this year’s giveaway.”

St. Augustine Episcopal Church, located in the East Flatbush section of the 21st District was the supporting partner who provided a base of operations for the turkey distribution. Other sponsoring organizations include Brookdale Hospital, All–Car Rent-A-Car, and Key Foods of Key Fresh & Natural on Avenue H, Western Beef and Ironhorse Music Group, LLC. Some of the other organizations that assisted in distributing the turkeys to families in need and also preparing meals are: Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church, The Rugby Deliverance Tabernacle, Breukelen Girl Scouts Troops, Gods Battalion of Prayer Church, Inc, Bethel Food Pantry, MT. Zion Church of God, Avenue D Merchants Association, Worldwide Evangelical Outreach, Ocean Avenue Tenants Association, Renaissance Adult Day Services, etc...
