(Astoria, NY) – Senator Michael Gianaris recently met at his district office in Astoria, Queens with George Lazouras, Mayor of Kalavryta, Greece. Mayor Lazouras represents the historic hometown where both of Senator Gianaris’ parents grew up before coming to the United States.

“I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Mayor Lazouras during his first visit to New York,” said Senator Michael Gianaris. “I am proud my family's roots are from a place as historically significant as Kalavryta and look forward to continue building relations with its leaders.”
