RITCHIE SECURES $50,000 TO IMPROVE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES IN RODMAN

State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $50,000 to help the Town of Rodman improve its Gordon E. Cole Memorial Park.

“Facilities like the Gordon E. Cole Memorial Park are places where memories are made,” said Senator Ritchie.

“They’re places where children can get their first taste of playing sports like baseball, where families can come together and spend quality time and where people can exercise and enjoy the outdoors. I’m so pleased to be able to provide this funding, which will go a long way toward improving the park for all who use it.”

“Since its establishment in 2007, the Gordon E. Cole Memorial Park has been used by community members for everything from family picnics and church functions to baseball games and other athletic activities,” said Town of Rodman Supervisor Gary Stinson.

“In recent years we have worked tirelessly to continue to make improvements to the park—adding new equipment and making other changes that benefit those who use it.  This funding secured by Senator Ritchie will help us to continue that work, and we cannot thank her enough for her support.”

Specifically, funding secured by Senator Ritchie will be used by the Town of Rodman to make improvements to the little league baseball field and pavilion at the Gordon E. Cole Memorial Park.  In addition, funds will also be used to add trees and benches throughout the park.

Final release of funds is subject to state approval.
